Great! More excuses to stop and take pictures.  ;D

Here's the Ashuelot covered bridge in Winchester NH and the bridge over the Connecticut River coming into Brattleboro VT.
It's been over a year since you posted your pictures of the Ashuelot ant the CT river bridges, are you still around?(your profile shows you haven't graced us since May 2023)
I stopped at both on the same day back in May after escorting TheLoneBuilder, Sean from Belfast Ireland 🇮🇪,  on his way across the states and Canada to visit all the Belfasts over here.
I posted the Ashuelot bridge(repainted since your picture)a bit ago but here is the CT River bridges (Twins)
I threw in a couple shots from Steve Blake's shop where Andy rode up from Boston when Mike Vachon from Rochester and I had riden up to Saco Maine to meet up with Sean a week before as he had come down from Nova Scotia in his Quest.

Andy
If you are watching this thread, maybe we should do our fall ride to capture some of the bridges in NH and VT???

Devorgilla's Bridge, Dumfries, Scotland. This one's a wee bit older than most posted on here!

A bit of the bridge's history for anyone that's interested...

Great story and bridge, bike looks great too!  Thx for sharing

A nice minimalist bridge.

I looked it up and the branch from Front Royal to Luray was build in 1881. The bridge could be that old.

Where is it?

It's the Big 4 Bridge in Sidney Ohio.  https://historicbridges.org/bridges/browser/?bridgebrowser=ohio/bigfour/

Thanks

The guy in the background of the photo was not happy that I parked there for a quick picture. It is his property so that is his right I guess, forst time I have ever honked somebody off parking on pavement at the side of the road to take a picture.

We have lots of old covered bridges here in Ohio.  The best part is most are still in operation.....

I always marvel at the engineering of bridges [and roads] built in the mountains.

Thanks Stev-o. Here is some info on that bridge.  It looks like its days are numbered as a highway bridge, with plans to replace it.  Thankfully, it sounds like it won't be torn down, but the replacement will be built next to it, which will detract from the picturesque aspect of it.

Interesting facts, Greg.  Good that it wont be demo'd, that appears to be a very scenic area.

Dennis, I like the shots of the covered bridge.

Thanks Greg.  Of the nearly 14,000 authentic wooden covered bridges that once existed in the United States, less than 900 remain, with approximately 125 left in the state of Ohio.

Out for a ride today on the K5 and stopped by a local covered bridge @20 miles up so twisty roads(on the way home after putting on another 60 miles). It was rebuilt back in the 1980s.
