I dont have a kit in my bike , but riding with a cut frame. .. btw the frame kits are proven technology, used in a lot of triple trees, and International truck, heavy high way tractors ... to connect the steering wheel to the steering box. So millions in use out there. Do you not trust your triple trees ?
Now I got to ask you, put a single tube and clamp in yours, torque to whatever you torque it to, then pull the end of the tube sideways at a known length.. like say 8 inches. Now pull it till it moves, then 90 degrees the other way.
You can sort of record the force with a spring scale.
I will tell you this.. mine will not move easier.. this I already know.
Thanks Frank, you must havec missed the bit where I've completely redesigned mine (don't worry, I won't be selling them, they're too complex and time consuming to make for others, and anyway, I don' t need the money)
My new ones are all alloy, with threaded "slugs" that fit tightly inside the frame tubes, with tight fitting alloy sleeves on the outside, with screws going from the alloy outer sleeve, through the actual frame rail and
threaded into the solid core within the rail, not just clamping it on the outside, like a big hose clamp.
The good thing is, once again, if a new owner wants to take it back to stock it's easy to disassemble and weld back together, but as it is, it would be the most rigid frame kit, currently available.
