Look at the plate on the headstock, it will tell you on there
Semi Geriatric ex-Honda mechanic and MOT tester (UK version of annual inspection). Garage full of "projects" mostly 500/4 from pre 73 (no road tax in UK).

It's 73 or 74. Not seeing 72 nor 75 parts on it.

Agree with Frank. Use this chart and your frame and engine numbers to see what you have. http://www.hondachopper.com/engine/engine_timeline/timeline.html

I wonder how the forks came around far enough to hit the tank?

A dollar or internet beer says the front end got a good hit and maybe broke off the steering stop. I got one like that also.

My 73 forks could hit the tank because for some reason the  stop had endured wear or damage. I had to have them welded up and re-shaped.
That bike looks to be 73-74 maybe

If it were a 75, the petcock and signals are wrong .
If it were a 72 wrong forks , wrong seat I think, wrong gauges. .

Looks mostly like K2 to me. The K2 had the dipped-ribbed sides on the seat, with the seat narrowed right there (like mine!). The tank has the slightly flattened areas where the decals went, too.

The sidecovers on K3 had the K2 indents, but the larger K3 logo on them, which frequently broke off from legs dragging over them during takeoffs. So, it could possibly be K3, but the engine looks too well formed: the K3 has the worst-cast engines, usually showing up on the fin edges and the top of the crankcase (as wrinkles). The K2 still had pretty good quality control.

I noticed the seat dip, 73 is more brick like I think .
But look at the head top fin right hand side, the angle side is straight,  no notch like a 72... so I say 73 head or later..
SOME early 73 had the other head, maybe all for a short while.
Instruments not 72 nor forks , and it looks like you can see part of the 73 and later signal light extra hole in the ear,  that 72 did not have.
