I remember allot of discussion about carb cleaning.... spray choke cleaners, boiling lemon juice, simple green  and other things like that, Berryman's or a can of NAPA carb cleaner seemed to take a while to become the go to cleaner for some reason.
But my favorites was how to clean rust from a tank, there was acid washes of all kinds , toilet bowl cleaners, electrolysis, rolling hardware inside the tank to get the rust out, 25 ways to prevent flash rust, what to do if you had flash rust and what the favorite tank seal/ coating might be.

I looked back 10 years and was getting the central states volunteer riders for the Godzilla SOHC world tour lined up. We ended up gathering the relay riders from Kansas city to Western Pa. I was impressed with the Indiana and Ohio riders. I had the most fun riding with the KC group and then drowning/freezing with the Chicago and Indy riders.  My brother and I did KC to Munster In.
I'll never forget the manager of Three Floyds brew pub mopping around and between us while we got to know each other. He also put our helmets in a warm area of the kitchen.  My brother and I found a motel and the manager let us park under the canopy. It was cold in the morning and we were still wearing damp shoes and gloves.

Yes the word "Brimmer" took on a whole new meaning for quite awhile.  Wonder where some of the guys like Kingscustomcycle,Fenders and Lucky are on this Holiday season.

Yes, Brimmer but that's not the answer to the quiz.

Kingscustomcycle is prolly building choppa's w/o front brakes, fenders is preaching how impressive the CB450 is and who the heck ever figured anything out about Lucky?!!!

We got totally drenched all the way from Nashville to the Barber Museum in Birmingham ( 260 miles ) for the hand-off to the next crew. It was so wet and stormy Jeff Ray the museum manager allowed us to store our bikes in the museum lobby overnight ! This might be my most cherished pic of my K1, IN the Barber museum !!   April 2011.

Wasn't it Lefty who sported the piston? Then there was PimpZilla... Is Lefty still in the land down under? Who is PimpZilla living with? I have a mascot if we put together another tour... It is going to be a gathering right, so you should call the Godzilla to come too... Is that enough of a clue for the mascot?

David, GZ V1.0 had a piston in his right hand, while Lefty, GZ V2.0 had a piston in his left hand, hence "Lefty". ;) GZ V3.0 was empty handed, the poor thing, and after FatMatt dressed him up became known as "Pimpzilla", or PZ for short. Last I saw PZ was at the reunion, when Mooshie took possession, but I suspect she passed him back to Matt??

Wow! Time flies. Doesn't really seem like 10 years ago. I rode with Sean and Fat Matt to meet Greg (Ofreen) in Fernley, Nv. Looking back I wish I would have been able to do more of the west coast ride. It was a lot of fun even though we froze our a$$es off going over the Sierra Nevadas. If I remember correctly Jerry and the Colorado guys had the worst winter conditions ride of the whole event. I need to go through my pictures and relive those memories.

I put in 900 some-odd miles with the New England crowd, but never got to carry GZ on my non-sohc4 Honda. I'm with Ichi on this one, perhaps 21 or 22 might be a time to begin planning another go-round?

I know we've all had lives happening and the relays sort of layed off on their own, maybe post covid GZ, in all 3 iterations can hit the road, in 3 different directions. Possibly in 4 different directions if we add a new GZ iteration.  Does this idea appeal?  I've got 5 weeks vacation that I didn't have the first time 'round. How 'bout y'all?

Remember the Taco Bell Dog, chihuahua, one of the stuffed dogs had a sound recording that said "Here Lizard, Lizard!". I think that's the new mascot. I unstitched the back to fish out the sound module to replace the battery. Small watch batteries. Will put a silver oxide in for longer life and then see if I can hand sew a velcro closure in place so it can have battery removed in future without disassembly and for when it sits unused.

Have the other one with red rose in its mouth that says, "I think I am in love!!"
Would be funny to put switch in left paw/front leg that triggers I think I am in love...
Probably should put a means of strapping front paws to the handle bar and retainer cord to pop around the handle bar as a safety tether in case wind gust were to blow 'him' off.
These were a promotional item for a Godzilla movie back in the early-to-mid-90s. Taco Bell made a big splash on them and the movie with prize giveaways and all kinds of stuff like that. Spent millions on advertisement and movie product placement as well as the USA movie, food, and contest promotion.

Another Gozilla ride from three points converging towards central US would be good but unless super-slabbing (interstate) travel transit would eat days and days...
As it is, it is likely to be 3 days from farest points to a centralized spot for most. So, 6 days riding only gives you 1 day onsite and that means 1 day recovery before you turn around and do it again. Lots of riders couldn't honestly do it, they woukd need at least 2 days recovery if not better to have three. When is last time you rode more than 5 hours? I did it last month and it was in cold weather, 45-53 and I was beat by the time I finished. 2-2.5 hours isn't too bad...
Planning another 4.5-5.5 hr ride Sunday...exploring and going to some places I have never been since living in AZ.
Only way to develop endurance is to repeat and to be working out to tobe and develop better core strength. Luckily my bike is comfortable for about two hours in good weather. Cold weather I want a break at 90 minutes if at 65 and below. If riding speed is 75 mph and air temp is cold then hourly or every 75 minutes and I need a break for about 15 minutes.. AZ freeway speeds outside cities is 75mph...that wears on you a lot without a good windscreen or fairing...you might change your mind about how uvly a Vetter is if you trade off with same size bike using a Vetter and doing 75mph in 45-50F weather or colder. Keeping my legs warm isn't my issue and feet are alright with good wool socks in my Alpinestars Air goretex riding boots. Its not sweating or balancing the right combo of layers if you don't have a heated vest or a heated jacket. But, we aren't doing this in winter...
