My 1977 K7 Rebuild Story - Intro

I actually started this project a couple of months ago. I wanted a good intro project for CB750 building and found this 1977 K7 for a reasonable price and I actually had the trailer on the truck when I found it. It's a single owner 1977 bike - bought new and ridden all over North America until around 1988 when it got parked in the shed and left until 2017. The PO had a mechanical friend get it running again but he then discovered his health would not let him enjoy riding it. It sat for another couple of years until I acquired it.

Single owner - all the parts were there including two Vetter fairings and the ever present box of bits and pieces.

That makes zero difference click the image and it comes back full size and correct orientation - need to hold the ipad correct side up in future.

The bike is a runner? Only oil, filter, valve lash and ignition check?

Looks good, may want to go back to stock air box, it will run better.

I'm a Vetter fan too.

From the Man's own website I read:
The Windjammer SS was sold March 1977 through the end of 1979, but came with windshield clips beginning 9-77. These were designed to replace the 2 uppermost mounting screws left and right. That change virtually eliminated snapped windshields on these fairings.

The PO probably had it installed at the dealer before he picked up the bike.

It does run I rode around 50km around our (rural) area with no plates - the carbs on it were old style roundtops that the mechanical friend installed as the originals were totally seized so it was miserably hard to start and took forever to warm up and run smooth. A bit of point setting and  carb adjusting helped.

Currently it has been stripped and I just got the frame back from the powder coat shop - I'll be posting more under new headings so these don't get to long.
