Bent fork ear straightening tool with pics
« on: May 15, 2012, 04:48:20 AM »
I have a 74 CB550 that had a bent fork ear.  Looks like it fell over and got bent back and down.  The turn signal stem will never be correct with this deformation.  The tool pictured straightened the ear without removal from the bike.  The key was to straighten the brace on the back side and allow the chrome to reshape itself.  A few light hammer taps on the bracket in the back was all it took.  Worked great, saved be a small wad of cash ansd took about 30 minutes to build the tool and straighten.  Rock on.
36 years of this stuff, here to help.

Thanks for the helpful post, Rigid! With guidance from you and Archimedes, I think I can get my CB200t straightened out...

Yes, and his very first post as Rigid was in defense of King, which is what gave him away. ::)
