Hi All,
Just bought myself a '73 CB350F as a project bike. So far I've got as far as breaking it into a number of smaller pieces and sorting them into several piles; rebuild - replace - undecided.
Bought myself a few bits that I know I need and expect to be buying a lot more as I go.
I'm tending towards a mild cafe build - the seat that came with the bike doesn't fit properly, it is not for a 350F so I am looking for a replacement seat pan either to use or as a pattern for a fibreglass pan.
The rims are both shot, so am trying to decide whether to go with cheaper chrome stock type rims or go to excel or similar aluminium rims/ss spokes. Anyone how wide you can go on a 350 as far as tyres go? I am thinking probably 100/90-18 front and 110/80-18 on the back, if I go with the excel rims.
I've bought some z bars and plan on using 400F switches (since they are cheaper and easier to find). I need some new fork tubes, the originals are rusted and pitted - maybe I should go to 400F front end, any thoughts?
Basically, the biggest concerns are wheels, seat and forks at the moment, but I'm sure I'll have other problems as things progress.
Cheers,
Brett
