Where's the wheelie bars? You know he is gonna want to boost the displacement and open up the breathing of this for it to be able to lift the front wheel. Better find a locking or limited slip differential too!

I like it! I’ll post some pics of the one I bought for my brother in law a few years ago when he got done for DUI (“I was just around to the shop to buy some smokes…..”) and lost his license for 3 months. An old guy built it for his wife to go shopping and apparently she took one look at it and told him to shove it up his arse, so he got pissed off and sold it on Ebay.

Yep I definitely would love it Trevor, but to do it properly you need heavy duty wheels, like wheelchair wheels with heavier spokes, as I thought I was gonna buckle the back wheels the first time I went around a roundabout. Looks like whoever started that one gave up because they couldn’t work out how to mount it? The old guy attached the drive sprocket to the right side wheel, and the problem with that is that it pulled to the left(? I think) under acceleration, but it was fun.

David still uses it to ride to the shop to get his smokes, and hasn’t had another DUI since.

They're great fun, I only gave mine away to the BIL because I was worried that he was gonna run over a kid while driving pissed, or I would have kept it, although it needed some serious power upgrades. The steering was a bit too quick at speed, but my youngest bloke enjoyed it.

That's a good point, you can buy the Chinese knockoff Honda engines up to around 180cc's, with electric starters too? Just need some heavy duty spoked or cast wheels to handle the power and weight.

Find a ratted out Honda there and use the engine. Like the classic mini guys putting Honda car engines in old minis.

I had a 53 metro, it was the funnest thing to drive ever. I used to go to the local park in the 70's when all of the muscle car guys used to wax their prize machines on the weekend, pull in amongst them and detail it. I always imagined one with a Buick turbo V6. Years later, a friend was going to tub mine and put a big block in it but realized that left no place to sit.
