400f is running good, it's got time off

so basically the cb400f has been my single source of transportation since about 2014 this last run. insurance and reg comes out to about 200 a year. sweet. recently a picked up a 2000 xr650r. the story was identical to most stories of the used sales of these things, it's got about 1000 miles on it it's in good shape, maybe frame might be a bit bent or the sub frame, handles like supercross bike. rolls like it's on air. hard to pick up off the ground,  and got some ponies, smooth. only it's louder than everything i've ever seen. sounds like it's knocking,  . the owner didn't know about maintenance or adjusting anything. electrician he was, so most of the electronics were mcgivered, it took him 10 minutes to start it all from jumpin off the seat to slam down on the kickstarter on compression stroke. he couldn't keep it running, he had it 21 yrs. took me about 3 minutes to adjust the carb slide, and find the choke lever,  he had it so low he was rolling the throttle on while kicking it. they don't start easy like that. but it's a dual sport and cost 26 to transfer title and insurance is as far as i can tell, 24 dollars a year on top of the cb400. both together about 100 dollars.
