I like the amzoil synthetic, less smoke.

Is the Amsoil an injection-specific oil?   if it's heavy,it will not have the speed to fill the oil lines  & passages fast:it'll be a bit slow, more in the cold.

the 2 stroke oil is for injection, it's made for modern boat motors, I use it because it smokes less and lubricates well. Also the fact that it's for a boat leads me to believe it has a high tolerance for moisture.
I cleaned the carb today, put in a new needle valve and did some tuning on it, I got it to a new world record (for me) of 30 mph and that was the uphill direction of the block. If it would normally go 35 I'd likely put a plate on it.
The Treatland / Malossi 70cc kit looks like fun but $650 is a bit high for a $400 pit bike. It has an exhaust, cylinder, piston, rings, pin, intake, head and carb.

But then, you might have to stop using it in the pits and put it on the track?

Don, the QT50 comes w/ a 14" rear wheel.
You could gear it up w/ a larger rim(16"/17"?),but I'm not sure of what's the largest rim/tire that will fit close to the back of the engine.
Does anyone know of another way to gear-it-up w/ aftermarket drive shaft gears ?
I had a Honda NC50 Express which had an enclosed chain case, and I was thinking about modifying it for gear-up,possibly custom sprockets made by a company.

We used the old hopper at the track. It ran like a top, I should have cleaned the float bowl long ago. It was tire Armageddon for us I flattened two golf cart tires, the rear hopper tire and blew a trailer tire going home.
We fared better than a friend, he punctured his race car slick when he ran over a piece of his engine block.

I used Amsoil for many years when I had my 21' Checkmate with a 200hp Mercury outboard, loved that boat!   I dont have a pic handy but was very similar to this one...

The new tube came for the Yamahopper today I realized it has a single sided swingarm. I broke the bead, pulled one side over the rim, removed the tube, walked to the mailbox and got the new tube, slipped it in, put the bead back inside the rim, blew it up with the blow guy several times to get the tube untwisted, put the core back in and inflated it to 32 psi.
My brother told me about the guys in Japan patching tubes along the road without removing the tire. They were my inspiration.
