Topic: Clutch cable routing

Hi guys.

Is it normal that the clutch cable has this route (near the exhaust) and that I'm fully turning on the left, the cable is slightly pulled? Thanks an Regards.

 It does run down the front of that frame tube. Is it a new cable ? Maybe if you measure it someone can compare the length to a known good one.Might be too short. Bike looks like a 1971.

I have an old one in the garage, think I got the part number too… gotta move the car to get at the box, but will do after other chores.

This is the original cable, measures 52 3/4”, updated part #22870-410-000, covers a few models.

It was sitting right on top of the old parts box.
This original cable never failed, and did 45? years of service. But I removed the bars one day and saw these strands unraveled from the bundle. Ordered the new one pronto. This old cable will work just fine in a jam.

 The handlebars appear to be fairly low like euro bars, not the u.s. taller ones.  The cables for euro bars or cb500 are a bit shorter.
