CR Carb Float needle broken how to fix

Hello All,
Been long time that i've been on this forum, but i need help

 i got a CR 31 Carb for my CB900F 1982, only one issue is one of the support for the needle to hold the float is broken, any idea on what product to glue/sod this piece in order to keep the float in place..

As of today 3/13/2012 my original owner 75 CB750F has made it through 3 wives, er EX-wives. Free at last.  ;-)

 I have tapped a cut-down, notched and drilled brass bullet casing over the remaining post. I also used some gas tank repair epoxy to glue it into place.
No matter how many times you paint over a shadow, it's still there.

Was that a .22 case?
It was some empty centerfire wildcat bullet case that my brother had in his snap-on box that we share here. He doesn't really know what it was, and I threw away the case end after I cut it. It did have a small neck down on it though.
How bullets end up in a mechanics toolbox I'm not sure, at least that one was expended.

 I haven't used this one yet but I used a piece of 1/4" soft copper tubing to repair a rotted float post.
No matter how many times you paint over a shadow, it's still there.
