Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 on Bring a Trailer
« on: January 03, 2023, 01:53:54 PM »
Spotted this on an R.E. forum, it's got 21 hours to go and it's only up to $3500. It's in N.J. and has fork gaiters, a fly Screen, tail tidy and aftermarket mufflers.

I bought mine used & completely stock with 3600mi.for $4500, but it looks like they list for $5200-$5700 depending on which paint scheme you wany, then dealers start tacking on the fees bumping prices up near $7k

Looks like it sold for $3750, somebody's having a great year.

I go about 150 miles between refills. There is supposedly a 'dead-stock' area of the tank that the pump won't pull out. Some say it's for cooling the pump but I dunno. There's a shop in India that'll build me a 20 liter tank by grafting 3 tanks together for a super wide but otherwise stock looking tank that'll run 250 miles between refills. I haven't asked them for a price yet, I've got to make the bike more comfortable first.

Dang that was a steal! I have had my eye on those twins, they look and sound beautiful. One of these years I really want to get someone new in my fleet for when all my old bikes are broken. The new Trident 660s were my fav until I started seeing these Enfields in the wild.

For you guys with those twins...how much vibration is there compared to the 750?

Honestly I only have a few miles on a 750 a long time ago, but I'm gonna say that even with the counter-balancers in these twins they vibrate more. I added a pair of Grip Puppies over the grips for comfort and started noticing more vibration in the footpegs. It was always there, but I noticed it more. The vibrations aren't a show stoper, even with the crappy too-thin stock seat it's comfortable enough to ride until the next fuel stop.

Thanks for the info Alan. I bought a new 74 CB450 twin and ended up selling it after one summer do to vibration making my hands go to sleep. Bought a new CB750 to replace it. I was always wondering how the bigger twins were in the vibration department.

That was a deal.  The S&S big bore kit, cam and air filter can take you from 40 hp at the wheel to 65 (about 77 at the crank).

Yes, there are kits for 750 and 860, or high compression 650 and 750. There are cams, pipes, mufflers, intake runner mods, piggyback ECMs and all kinds of suspension and brake upgrades.
And there are clutch kits to handle that horsepower too.
