Duplicolor #EDE1615 it's a fine metallic heat paint
« on: January 30, 2023, 11:48:51 AM »
Does anyone know where I can purchase this paint in a local store? None of the auto parts places carry it and can't order it. This engine enamel heat paint has a fine metallic sparkle to it and it comes in a 16oz. can.
I've always had trouble finding it and now with the big $ price hikes for everything this can seems to be non-existent on any shelf.I ask and always get a "sorry, that's not in our system,And we Can't get it"..   ::)   it's like there's no listing or source for it..
I want to find a company that I can drive to that carries it,rather than ordering it online because of the extra charges of shipping aerosol paint.

I can get Duplicolor #DE1615 but it doesn't have that metallic 'sparkle' in it.
The EDE1615 is the same color as the #DE1615 but 'pops'  8) when the sun hits it with that fine metallic in the paint.
I've always enjoyed finding this color and enjoying the finished product  8) 8)

Mods, please move this to the 'pissed off thread'   >:( ::)

This ONE?
https://www.ebay.com/itm/254369791167?epid=1337319375&hash=item3b399efcbf:g:zhUAAOSw13ldivIw&amdata=enc%3AAQAHAAAAoEZ%2BCI2DgPlRcAkUYquHa4%2BucV2j0QibfrSTWoV4RTtgPJT3GSA6lTpqj6ujPikMmmihiOnFkgDdI4Z6iZhG50WUPtarowkFkjb7Jbqv%2Fak18jzr71Bidrzw7szALf7S5rOEswfT3US5kVzeMiNKo%2BELzST%2F4RLbv5vZkSkBstW6R5pVAZ4w%2F3QbAaxl71uzdxGYm2cgm4xfj3uItBfhGAc%3D%7Ctkp%3ABk9SR9iJs8XAYQ

Per,that one on ebay looks like the listing is for #EDE1615 but when I scrolled-through it I find that is for the Duplicolor #DE1615 which is not metallic and has a 12oz. can:that can is readily available to me locally but not the exact '#EDE1615 color I want  ;)

I want to mention that the Duplicolor #DE1615 is a very good engine paint and as close as you can find(imo)to the OEM Honda color silver engine paint;I do like to purchase it also for when I paint crankcases.

I'm still hunting for the Duplicolor #EDE1615 engine heat paint silver.
I can order it from zoro.com which is one choice although I want to find it locally through a certain supplier..
I was told grainger.com can also get it from zoro.com and distribute it locally to me:I may try that.

This can be an issue here too. Canadian Tire used to stock all their colours and then they seem to have dried up. A few months ago I spotted a few cans in a store near my son’s place (DE1615) and snapped them up! I use their matching “filler primer” too. Good stuff and I agree, the best match.

You might try an auto paint seller, if you haven't already.  There is a small shop close to me that retails Dupli Color. I don't know if yhey carry the paint you need, but its worth a shot. Looking at their display  they seem to have a better variety than the big box auto parts places.

I just found that this exact paint is available at Grainger which is about 10 miles from me here  :).
I'll make the order online and drive over to get it. I think it's weird that they said their supplier is also zoro.com..  ::)
