I was marked down at a motorcycle show for not having grey cables on my 1973 Honda CB 350F. All the research I've done indicates they are black. Any one know for sure?
welcome to the world of vintage motorcycle judging....and experts and judges who can be wrong.
If you want to continue showing your bike and be able to defend and support your position and avoid surprises, as you are going to come across this all the time, begin to do more research including vintage magazines, honda ads, original parts books, etc. ....and keep these articles.
This is exactly what I have had to do. I have come across "judges" that did not know that honda produced Sunrise metalflake orange painted parts as a factory color. They would say, "nice custom paint ".....really, and they're judges?....some are arrogant, most will listen and having proof helps....
.....as an example. ....Concerning US imports, there isn't any such thing as a 1973 honda 350F as per Honda.
Depending on your frame and engine #'s, it is a CB350FO, released in 05/72 and sold through 1973...
1974 saw the release of the 1974 model CB350F 1, which is the first year of Honda's adaption of model year designation. ....pics below...
Also, even though the pics are black and white, your cables show black and the CL 77 at the top you can see are gray.....
additional proof your bike came with black cables.......
be careful of internet opinions and "facts" without evidence.....
