CB750 with CB550 Rear wheel assembly?
« on: November 06, 2023, 10:23:45 AM »
Trying to ditch the 16in I have on the back of my K6 CB750 and put an 18 back on it. Would a CB550 rear wheel assembly work? I'm struggling to find a reasonable 18in for a 750.

Rear hub is different on 550 and 750.

The 500/550 uses 36 spokes, the 750 uses 40 spokes - so, keep an eye out for that?
See SOHC4shop@gmail.com for info about the gadgets I make for these bikes.

I forgot about that. Been a while since I was around the 500/550.

500s i done had 40, the 400 has 36.
500 has a narower rim and the cast drums are prone to cracking , brakes sshoes are different and you would have to make spacers, oh and not all 500/550 are the same, whatever you get you need the complete wheel from
Semi Geriatric ex-Honda mechanic and MOT tester (UK version of annual inspection). Garage full of "projects" mostly 500/4 from pre 73 (no road tax in UK).
