This Kaw KZ1000ST followed me home
« on: December 23, 2023, 10:06:41 AM »
Bought a '79 KZ1000ST shaft drive and the seller delivered it. Only 4,300 miles and in mint condition. It's been sitting for several years and will need a thorough going over. Mostly original; the stock exhaust also came with the bike. PO put pod filters on it and I will see if I can find an airbox and the emissions stuff that goes with it. The LazyBoy recliner seat has to go.

You only go around once in life so it might as well be on a motorcycle.

You will not be disappointed! Monster engine. I did a 1000 for a friend a few years ago and it blew me away the first time I rode it!

Almost new bike milewise! ;)
You can make a toy for children of that seat, a horse.
Or a bar seat...

It looks like a keeper. I mentioned in another thread my first ride on a big KZ. It stuck with me even though I didn't buy one at the time.

It's rideable but I'm in no hurry to take it out for a shake down because it's been cold. I still have stuff to do. One carb overflows; the petcock leaks; and the brakes are spongy. Typical stuff on any bike that has been sitting for too long.
