I am trying to locate a "WRENCH AXLE" part number 89202283000 amongst some other tools to make up a tool kit for my 1971 CB500f K0. This is a double size ring spanner. Can anyone help please by telling me what size those 2 rings measure?

Hi jlh3rd and thank you for your post.
This is indeed the correct design,but I believe Honda made these in different size configurations and I am hoping that someone out there has what they know to be the correct one in there original tool kit and can tell me the two size's.

Its been a long while but as i remember it they are the front spindle nut and rear spindle nut sizes, later on you only got the rear as the front is not undone very often

Well, if you have a '71 CB500 F, just measure the front and rear axle nuts and you'll know the sizes.

Good point ADW. I will search out my vernier. I spotted something on ebay USA but they don't say what size's they are,what it comes from or a part number. I don't want to go to the trouble of getting this if it then turns out to be the wrong size. It's all about doing my homework really.

Measured as 23.5 and 26.5 so suppose to fit 23 and 26mm.
Rare spanner, you might have to get it from the US after all.

Yes, as asked it cant be an f and a K0 at the same time.
It can be a 500 Four K0.
The f on its own denotes later 550 models

Just to clarify this wrench is part of the original tool kit from an August 1971 CB500 Four K0 supplied when new to the state of California USA.
Apologies if my model description was incorrect or confusing.

It is a common mistake but one that can be confusing.
As a part from a very early 500 it is hard to find so if you do see one nap it up quick although it is only the real nit pickers that will notice

Looking at all the information I have and all the assistance everyone here has given me I think you are absolutly right with 23mm & 26mm. Rare indeed! but I can but try.

This was my first post and I'm so impressed with all the help that's out there.
I only acquired this bike a couple of weeks ago but I'm really pleased with it,just finding my way a little.
Last time I had one it was 1975 and a K1 UK spec so I don't remember too much about it.

I snagged this last year to put together a complete toolkit that was representative of the original tool kit that came with my 1966 CL77 305cc Scrambler restoration.
I am not sure what Honda bike it was originally supplied with back in the day. I found it on EBay USA for a reasonable price, since it is NLA from Honda, while many of the original tools are still available to order directly from a Honda dealer.

Actually I was asking which wrench he was referring to. If I had known that one was 23/26, I would have bought one. Ideal for on long holiday trips: 23mm, always handy for the advancer nut and the 26mm would have saved me the weight of bringing an adjustabe Bahco wrench. To bad I have never found it specified. Now, many years later the price seems have gone through the roof.

Once Christmas is done and everywhere is open again I think I will order as many of the 14 pieces that made up the original tool kit and bag that are still available new and then hope that in the fullness of time I can find new or used the remaining parts.
