Wondering about the blinkers on these bikes? did all US Models have the Larger 22mm blinkers? this had the small ones in the rear 14mm and large up front.
All the CB400F s i see overseas have the smaller ones? i am having a hard time finding the correct stays for the rear.
I made these from Parts i had laying around. they are too short but will work for now.
Yes the 400/Fours in the US all came from the factory, as well as all the big bikes from 1975 to 78 with the big turn signals.
Back in 76 when I was parts manager and I had to get my new K6 750, I replaced the big signals with the smaller ones, as I had the availability of parts......so I had to make it my own 😎
The 400fours are a great little package of a bike. I worked on a friend's 76 this fall replacing fork seals and a new chain. I took it for a good test ride to be sure it was safe to hand back over to him, actually his dad was riding it while he was recouping from a work injury as his lawyer advised to stay off the bike until they had the settlement..... so I exercised it for him...
I have another friend, the owner of Honda Restoration Parts, that bought two 76 400s with low miles, as part of a package deal of his shop/house from an retired racer of 400s. I'm doing a clean out of the tanks(light surface rust in them) to prepare for getting them running when he gets back in April so he can sell them and his collection as he is getting ready to retire and wants to downsize as he doesn't ride anymore and wants to sell the parts business and property. He'd make a package deal for the right buyer. He and his wife have had a great time buying and selling the parts over the years but it's time to let a younger person that wants to have an opportunity to get it.
