Mine was a white 1965 Honda 65cc Sport.  I would put in 25 cents of gas which would about fill it and be able to run many weeks on that tank.  I would ride all over Oshkosh and it was the best summer fun whe I got my license.  But I got that bike when I was 15 and did not have a license.  I would push it over to the grocery store when they were closed so I could ride in the parking lot.  Well, that lot got small after a while and I ventured onto the road.  Only wanted to ride around the block.  As I came up to the stop sign there was a cop.  I was nervous as all heck and he noticed that.  That was my first run in with the cops for driving without a license.  No ticket, just a lashing.

Kawasaki 175 F7 street legal enduro. Many great memories, on and off road. Got it as a high school graduation present from my Mom in 1975. Did everything on that bike: trail riding, hwy trips, commuting to a summer job, picking-up chicks, cruising w/ Harley guys, running from cops, going to bars(!), hopping it up, blowing it up, and heres the rest of my herd over the years in order:
  1971 CB500Four
  1979 CB750F black(brand new and totalled after 2 weeks)
1979 CB750F silver (put 50,000 miles on it in 3 years)
  1982 V45 Sabre
  1983 XN85 Suzuki Turbo
  1989 CB1
  1983 XN85 Suzuki Turbo (again)
  1981 CBX
  1969 CB750 sandcast bought in 1998 (my 1st CB750)
and around 40 or so early CB750's since then.....

I first started on a 97 Kawasaki EX500,  then sold it, owned a basket case CBR 6 for awhile, before deciding to buy a more up to date bike like another 500.   which was followed up by an 89 GS500E  after that, I decided to get old school, where I am now on the 550 I'm riding these days.    seems like if I keep going back in age on bikes I'll soon be riding a 30's harley or something.

my GS was a fun machine, when I got it it came with a set of forks from an 05 ninja 636 on it, which was REALLY fun to ride in twisties.    with a 120 rear on it, it just had the precision of a razor blade.

My first bike was a red 1970 Honda cb450. I forged my dad's signature to register it. Even with the beginnings of a slipping clutch, it was fast as I needed and looked so cool. I remember that 50 cents was about average for a days worth of gas. I also remember beating Cary Richards in a straight line drag race in his 427 Corvette, learning how to ride off road on it, and the feeling of Margie Borkow wrapping her arms around me and squeezing tighter as I went faster. No wonder I love bikes!

1964 Honda 50, rode it for about a year til I got my drivers license. Then move up to a 90. Both were great bikes and a blast to ride.

R26 or 27... they were all the same as far as I could tell.  The BMW most famous for being the heaviest and slowest motorcycle made after Gottleib Daimlers first attempts.  It has been documented that the top quarter mile speed has never been recorded because time keepers have always gotten tired and went home before one of these machines could cross the line at the end.
I wanted a BMW for as long as I could remember, and I didn't know any better.  Our tool selection at home was a screw driver, a claw hammer, and a bent pair of pliers, so when it stopped, I just sold it.  The beginning of a tradition that's lasted a lifetime...

Yes, but fortunately not from first-hand, everyday knowledge and use since they were before even my time. ;)

50 or 51 triumph t100 or t110? pre unit, hardtail chopper. i had never had any desire at all to ever own a motorcycle but a co-worker was on his way to prison and needed to sell it. asked me if i was interested, told him i had 170 bucks in my wallet and that afternoon i went home with it in the back of my isuzu lowrider truck. i got it running, rode it around the front pasture (was living on a horse farm at the time) for 10 minutes. then i hit the road. that was the first of many old, brit bikes i had (i was a glutton for punishment when i was in my 20's) i also had a 68 bonneville 650, had a beezer lightning 650, norton commando 850 (73 or 74) and a late 70's bonneville 750. the 74 750k was my first jap bike. no pics of any of the brit bikes. this is the 74 750k before the winter teardown started last week

I think I predate you guys a bit, mine was a 1951 Matchless 500 single that taught me a lot of things and shortened up one leg slightly, if you didn't have the spark advance set right and the decompressor just so It would remind you hard. I couldn't get it to run right, couldn't get it over 15 mph so I toke it to pieces, put it back together, next time maybe 16 mph, to pieces, back together, worse, to pieces, together, out on the road 10 mph and it dies, so as it starts to stop, I hop up and down swearing and start reefing on levers and all of a sudden I pull of the choke and away we go, I was hooked, after it a 500 AJS, a 650 Bonnevile a Honda Dream 305, that was culture shock, a 650 twin Matchless, Honda Super Hawk with A dust bin fairing on it, a Honda S90, broke my shoulder, and finally a Kawasaki KE 175, a CL77 Honda Scrambler a 750 Kawasaki twin and a 79 Cb650 the last 4 are projects with the CB ridable at the moment except for the 3 feet of snow in the front yard and the 4" s on the road.
Bill.

From 1966 to 1970 mostly a borrowed 65 305 Superhawk.  I purchased a new 1970 1/2 CB450 and never looked back.  Since then a 73 XLH Sportster, 75 CB550, 69 BSA Lightning, 77 FXE Superglide, 78 CB750F.  Current stable consists of a 66 CB77 305 Superhawk (My late fathers), 71 BSA Lightning, 72 CB 750.  After all these years still the most fun you can have with your clothes on. ;D  ;D  ;D  ;D

My dad has a few hundred stereocards and a few scopes. I guess he was fascinated with them as a kid in the '20's, and has collected them sporatically throughout his life. Mostly landscapes of foreign places he probably dreamed of going to.
