I guess they have lots of rear wheel travel engineered in. Yes, the tail seems high.

Was today at EICMA, tried it for size, feels perfect!

quite narrow between the knees, tempted to go for it for my next bike, but id go with the Grey/blue fairing less version.

In real life tail doesnt feel pointing up at all, see pic, more like totally flat with seat plane BTW

In your pictures the tail looks normal. I do wish that the front fenders on many of the modern bikes was longer. Especially since it's supposed to be protecting the radiator. On my Concours I was able to get a fender extension. It's much better in the rain as well as keeping road debris out of the radiator and oil cooler.
Overall I like it, they stayed close to the original style much like the modern Kawasaki Z900.

I tried the retro Z900RS for size, it splays the legs much wider, tank looks from above a mile wide.

was surprised how narrow they managed to make it in the CB1000F

yep, a fender extension is a good idea, not a biggie to 3D print...
