 I snagged this pic in an ad for a Gixxer, would a guy buy it?
No matter how many times you paint over a shadow, it's still there.

 I just imagine the amount of time involved, although I clearly see there wasn't a lot of precise layout and centerpunching for the holes going on. He did make a spare set and that required a little forethought.

Oh, yeah....that reminds me of a phone call I got from someone in IL after I moved to CO back in the 1970s - a former roadracing buddy. He tried some of those in an engine with the Megacycle copy of the Daytona cam, trying to build a dragster. Wrong combo: that cam is made to reach 10,500 RPM, but the rockers weren't.
