I just came back from the Louisiana Motorcycle Awareness rally and saw this bike with its not-so-comfy looking seat:

I hope that's stainless steel.... otherwise, could make for some interesting rust marks!   ;D

I guess it depends on how much inherent padding you walk around with.   ;D

or how thick your wallet is.

 I think the most uncomfortable thing would be if your sit bones lined up with the treads on that plate.
 
 I needed some of that diamond tread aluminum for a couple projects, and for what it cost per sheet at the lowest price I could find, it was cheaper for me to go to tractor supply co and buy truck tool boxes to cut up.
