Strange oil leak... help.
« on: May 29, 2007, 03:43:17 PM »
The bike in question is a 77 750F supersport.

Bought the bike with a seized engine... changed engines with a spare that I had.

Now... it is leaking oil somewhere above the exhause collector. And it is, of course, smoking like crazy, becuase it is dripping like crazy straight onto the exhaust.

I need to fix this. But I cannot really see anything because of the exhaust being hot and in the way.

Anyone have any ideas?

I thought maybe the oil lines... but they seem to be intact, and not dripping, but I could just not see it.

Any trouble shooting help or ideas is greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance,

Billy

You might want to take a good look at the seal washer for the oil tank drain plug. It weeps and drips over various parts and the last stop can be the exhaust pipe.
We'll all be someone else's PO some day.
