There isnt a genuine manual just for the 74, you have to have the CB500 one with the supplement that shows the differences. I have the lot, with all available supplements up to the last 78 model on a cd, lovingly scanned and converted by me but postage costs
Semi Geriatric ex-Honda mechanic and MOT tester (UK version of annual inspection). Garage full of "projects" mostly 500/4 from pre 73 (no road tax in UK).

Remember "Its always in the last place you look" COURSE IT IS YOU STOP LOOKIN THEN!

If you have a file for the 74, I'd be happy to send you postage.  ;D  IM me with your paypal account info and I will get it right out to you.

Thank you to whoever scanned and hosted the CB500/550 shop manual!
One of the things I really love about the old machines is the friendliness/helpfulness of the enthusiast base. It would be much harder to acquire such information if it wasn't for friendly folk.

Here's a link - the one above wasn't working for me.  The 550F parts manual is in there too.

The Service Manual here is the full manual including all addendums for all model years.  Good for all years of 500 and 550.

how to put a regulator
« Reply #10 on: December 13, 2012, 11:57:12 AM »
I have a custom CB 550 F 1974 and my charging system is giving me trouble bakc and forth. I bought a new regulator/rectifier plug in that I have no clue how to put it on. I have checked youtube videos but nothing to show me how to do it.
Anyone has pictures to show me how to test the stator and place the new part on it please.
Thanks for any considerations.
