How far does your CB750 get on a tank of gas?
« on: June 01, 2007, 07:20:35 PM »
I am curious because I ran out of gas today at exactly 152 miles on my trip meter. This is odd because I usually get about 165-175 miles on a tank. On a ride once, I got right at 200. But that was a steady 45 mph ride with very little stops. Today, I pulled out of me garage and was on the way to the gas station thinking I had plenty of gas...wrong! My bike has been sitting for a few weeks because I have been extremely busy lately and had no time to ride. It has also been very hot here in Georgia and I wonder if some of the gas evaporated.

Very odd..

I am a big believer that different brands of gas burn differently in my bikes and cars.  Some gasoline has more detergents and additives in it and I feel that they can actually reduce your milage, but that is just my opinion.  Two weeks ago I had to put gas in my car at a place that I would normally avoid.  As I expected, that tank full was about 45 miles short of what I normally get with Sunoco gasoline.

I get around 180 before I need to flip to reserve.

Wow you guys getting the 160 miles+/tank must either have very well tuned bikes or the wind is always behind you. My K4 on all my long trips with various gas only ever gets around 150 miles/tank - and thats tops! I usually fill up around 130miles. How do you get 200!!??

My mileage is the same one or 2-up and regardless of speed (although I rarely do less than 55mph continuously on one tank - more like 70mph+ on a regular basis).

Very interesting,
Andy

I think I'm the lone 200 miler. I took the original post literally. I get 48 mpg on my K0 (mostly 55-65 mph with the occasional 70) and given the tank capacity, it would get me 240 miles.. but there better be a gas station right there. ;D Most seem to be interpreting this as miles to reserve which would put me in the next category down. As a matter of routine, I tend to refuel anywhere from 120-140 miles as my butt needs a break by then anyway.  ;)

May depend on sprocket ratios as well.

I think my bike could use a bigger driven sprocket. It seems to be a bit high in the rpms cruising.

I am not sure about mileage, but I do tend to topoff when my butt gets sore.

I have gotten as high as 65mpg  (70 Can)on my73 with stock carbs, K&N's and a header..when it had about 6000 mi on it.

With Webers I usually got I think 45-50 or more I think...but as low as between 20-25 in town...BIG..........(*) (*)   (*) (*) Squirters!!

On my last trip with a very tired motor I still usually got a tad better than my buddys 78 K usually 50 or more..

At 160 she coughs, and says "if you run me on reserve you will work on my carbs."
These wonderful little birds are great flyers, delicious eating, excellent for training your hunting dog, and just fun to shoot,or stuff and keep around the house.  Bobwhites can be put with other types of Quail and have very large penis's.  Quail are very popular with the babes.
