what kinda glue did honda use

after reading about them float bowl gaskets swelling up. i though to myself... Yea i've had that problem too.  but the factory gaskets were glued in really good. what kinda glue or adhesive did honda use??? it was some good stuff anyone know?

What bike are we talking about?  Are they paper or rubber o-ring style?  I don't recall either using any glue, maybe a PO did.  I use a silicone grease on the o-rings just to keep them soft and pliable.

cb 750's alot of cbs have a the bowl gaskets and stuff glued in with some kinda reddish colored glue

Automotive weatherstrip adhesive works very well. It's usually yellow, so you lose concours points, but... just work some in the groove then install the O-ring, bolt on the bowl with a cut-out piece of wax paper between the bowl and body. After overnight take the wax paper out and the gasket is in for a long time.

sounds like a po used either ed liquid gasket or a red litium grease, i use black gasket on my gaskets, since both gasket and liquid are silicon dont need about reaction between them.
