Getting ready to pull the flywheel of of my Kaw 350 as part of my troubleshooting the ignition on it and my manual (a Clymer) doesn't give the torque value for the flywheel nut. Years ago, I'd just grab the hand impact and give it a few whacks with a hammer. Then, about 8 yrs ago, I did that and cranked the flange on the flywheel. So, I started not tightening it so much and I started shearing the flywheel keys. So, Lesson Learned (FINALLY!) and now I use a strap wrench to hold the flywheel and torque the nut. ::) I've looked all through the Clymer manual for it and it just isn't there. Anybody? ???

just a thought Bill if you go to http://www.bikepics.com there are three owners on there, you could try e-mailing them to see if they have a manual with the information for you.

Man, I can't believe my timing! ::) ;D One would think that I'd been around here long enough to have figured that out, wouldn't one? ??? ::)  Actually, I kinda figured that it might take some folks form "Tuesday to Thursday" just to recuperate from "The Friday to Monday Thing!"  ;D ::)  So, from where I see it, I'm liable to have a hard time catching someone who might be able to help me. ;D

I thought I had a picture of this bike, I haven't found it yet though. ::) I'm also gonna have to do something about the kick starter too, it is a bit "floppy". I might be able to add bushing, if I can't find another one cheap enough. This is what it looks like.

I have seen a couple of those kickstarters on ebay but, they were a little high for me though. Isn't that always the way? ??? ::)

Hey Malcolm, the knuckle is the problem. I really need to look at the shouldered bolt to see if thats where the main wear is or if it's the kick starter it's self. I've seen the bolts on ebay recently just before I had to leave the house and didn't catch it in time to get one. May end up trying to put in a couple of bushings. Thankfully, the shaft and that part of the kick starter is good. What do ya think?

maybe with the correct replacement bolt you will be good to go, I see there is a spacer shown on the drawing too, could that be an issue?
