The MC and lever are from a Suzuki SV650.  The braided brake lines are Russell.  In the future I'll have a dual disk set-up in the front.  Thanks for the kind words.

The first song is by the Eagles of Death Metal the song is Chase the Devil.  The second song is from Geddy Lee's solo project.  I love music and have a huge collection of great stuff.  All of my videos will have something good to listen to.

What's going on Sparty me old bean ;D ;D ;D ;D

I had the bike out this evening for a 20 mile ride.  I set the Dyna 2000 on the #4 setting and I notice a bit more power.  I stopped to top off the tank with Shell V-Power fuel and when I tried to start the bike again it gave me fits.  I couldn't turn the engine over with the kick start at all.  I let it sit for two minutes and tried again.  It finally came to life with the starter button after a few tries.  I am not sure if it was flooded or not.  I took it to 8000 once today.  It sounded so good revving up there.  It is hard to resist going higher.  I need to get the carbs sorted.  When I get on the throttle past 5000, the bike really pulls strong.  I went over to Bike Night and had more than a few guys looking it over.  When I started it, they began to grin.  It sounds fabulous with the Kerker 2 inch comp baffle.  The engine is becoming more and more quiet as it breaks in.  The cam chain noise is very low now at idle.

Once the bike is good and hot (the engine heats up much faster than the stock one did), the idle comes up a bit higher than I would like, I am guessing it is a carb adjustment issue.  I wish the CRs had a tuning guide.  The Fast by Gast tranny is super positive and it shifts beautifully.

I was in second gear at 5000 and opened the throttle and my front wheel came up as I climbed to 8000.  I watched my speedo climb in a split second 20 mph.  This bike is fast for a heavy bike with a full tank.  It will hit a ton quickly; however I only had it to 80 so far.  When I am in third gear and open the throttle I need to hold on because it spins up quickly.  The 17 tooth front sprocket gets the power to the rear wheel much better than the stock 18.  I am in love with how the K&N pods suck air, they have a great whistle as the engine spools up.

I need Mike to come down and tune this sucker for me.  I have a very strong feeling that I am down a few HP at the moment.  I can tell that it has more to give.

Mike,

there is no throttle lag on the #4 setting.  The exhaust pressure is great.  It will blow your hat off your head.  The engine breaths very well, excellet port work.

When I got a fresh rebuild on the Lycoming, I was alarmed at the much higher cylinder head temps I monitored.  Turns out it is normal for an air cooled motor to run hot until after the rings seat and the friction goes down.  Sure enough, during break in, the cylinder head temps in cruise slowly diminished to where they had been before the overhaul.  The lycoming carb has a mixture control accessible from the drivers seat, which helped minimize cylinder temp climb.

Your 20 mile ride report had me smiling Art! Im enjoying this break-in period vicariously. Keep it coming! I think all of us are eager to hear how a super-performance engine wakes up and slowly comes to life. Gives us all something to think about. Now we just need to hear it and then see it run - so where is the video!!  ;D
