what was the sellers name (username or actual name used on documents)? Any info you can share on him to help jump start a search for him?

OK, everybody. I've got my buddies running a title search as far back as they can. I will say after talking with a few people (as in very old cops) there may be a simple answer. No solution, but an answer. I won't hear anything for 2 or 3 days or so Hang on.

Hi all,

I have noticed today on EBAY that the seller is "No longer a registered user"

I did not yet contacted  Ebay or PAYPAL,  so it is intresting.

Thank you all for your support,

Jona

Hey Jona, sorry to hear about you being screwed, but I think you have mate, so put in a Paypal claim right away for whatever you paid for it, (there is a time limit) at least you'll get that much back.

Paypal usually ask for the item back, but I'm sure they won't expect you to return the bike, so you'll probably be able to keep it to part out and that money should ease your shipping and import tax burdon, somewhat.

Either that, or make sure it's insured, then leave it parked in the street with a spare set of keys left in it, I hear you've got some pretty bad neighbors on your side of the pond? ;D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

"Crazy is a very misunderstood term, it's a fine line that some of us can lean over and still keep our balance" (thanks RB550Four)

Updates,

I have decided to contact Ebay and PayPal for clarifications,

PayPal declined my claim due to the 45 days period,  (well, I have received the bike 3 months after buying it....) :(

Ebay replied with the "No longer a registered user".... :(

Will try other channels,

Thank you all for your support.

Jona:
I sent you a PM, but I'm going to post this so the others know.
My friend at the BMV traced the title back to the original registration and the VIN number on the plate is the original for the 76 Honda and that VIN is what shows on your Title. As I said in the PM, I'm going to guess that at some point in this bike's history it was wrecked and someone grafted on a "new" (with engraved #) front section and then re-attached the plate. There have been several owners so when and where this happened is anybody's guess. If the officials don't accept this then your only choice will be to order a full title history from the IN BMV for I think $50 US. Might be a small price based on the major $$ you already have invested.

Hello all,

As of today,  I might see the light at end of the tunnel.

Yesterday I have met again with the chief inspector,  and have persuaded him that I have done my share in trying to rectify this problem and that’s includes checking with the FBI,  the local BMV and DMV ETC. and it is his turn to try to solve it.

He came with a creative solution 8),  to have the bike inspected in the Technion Vehicle Testing Lab for frame change,  deleting the stamped VIN end engrave the VIN that is written in the Title (and the riveted plate).

So yesterday I went to the lab to inspect the bike and got a clean certificate.

Now I have to stamp the Vin number (to match the riveted plate) and pass the annual inspection - and that’s it.

Who said life is boring when dealing with authorities ;D ;D ;D?????

I would like to thank you all for your support and efforts to track the info I needed. :-*
I am very proud to be a member of such a community.

Cheers,

Jona.

Glad to hear this seems to be headed for a happy ending. It sounded grim at the onset.
