and you'd think a guy who built it would know how much he has into it.... and he'd also know what is was worth?

or is my affinity with the 350 clouding my judgment?

Thanks for this post. I grew up in the Maxton area, still go down home as family is still there too.
Next year, Lord willing,  I will run the Stock Honda and the Ducati.
I'll post just what a stock 750F2 Honda will do. ;D

Land speed record on that 350....88mph :(

Are you sure you read that right - 88mph. I thought a 175cc went like 126mph at Bonneville this year!! A young girl was ridding it!

Yes it was 88.005mph for some reason  ??? perhaps he had problems and was only establishing the record, perhaps no one had contested the class before at Maxton.

Somthing else to consider. Allthough it is called land speed racing, what happens at Maxton is not the same as what happens at Bonneville.
At Maxton I think they have a one mile run at a very short speed trap, sorta like the trap that gives you your terminal speed at a drag strip.
The way I look at it is it's just a bit of fun, they even do it in the UK ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

With regards to ekims quote, the worlds fastest 175 speed is 126mph recorded over the flying kilo by a young lady named Belan Wagner.
Belan also holds the outright land speed record for a 175cc motorcycle in the American national record of 133mph.

Ask me how I know ::) ::) ::) ::) ::) ::)

I saw the show when she made the record run. If she weighted 150 lbs with leathers, boots and helmet she was heavy for her - just from looking. ;D ;D

No Dave, I did a search for her but drew a blank.

It's what I weigh that's more important to me.

If I can't get it down, I'll still have the gas option.

Hey. it would be a flying run at it though. Looks like the runway is almost 2 miles so perhaps it would
give a good indicator of top speed before the trap. It would be a one way run thought so into or
wind aided would be an issue I'd think. The wind does blow pretty steady in the Maxton area.
