I THINK I NEED HELP !!!!!!!!!!!!

I gote the first quote today for shipping my 2 bikes over to the US to run at Maxton in June.

By air £940.00, by sea £550. The $ today is 1.42 to the pound.

I'm still waiting for the quote to get them back home

Sometimes I just wear my white leathers around the house and let my wife call me "Sam". I'm still doing some hard thinking on that bike though. With the economy taking a dump over here I've seen several nice race packages for sale at pennies on the dollar.

Would you have time to re-assemble your bikes stateside? It might be cheaper to ship the frame, fork, wheels, bodywork etc in some UPS sized boxes separately?

That's a good idea Steph but time will be at a premium, I'm trying to fit it in with Mike Riecks Holidays so with the traveling and fitting time in to see family and friends, the less time spent wrenching the better.
It's no good wearing your white leathers and getting your wife to call you Sam, You need to be............

Hi Burma, nice to hear from you again, thought you had got lost

The bike's away at the moment, trying to figure why the nitrous system didn't work.

Should have it back for testing in March at Elvington and then a mock attempt at the record in April at Woodbridge if all is well.

I was hoping to bring it over to Maxton in June but with the present economic climate I'm going to have to give it a miss.

Official attempt at the Record will be in September if all the testing goes to plan.

Regarding frequenting other forums where others hang out,.....well I allready do

but this is my home and will remain so.

And yet another here letting you know we are all pulling for you to break the record.
Secretly i'm hoping you forgo all those events, and run on the Bonneville Salt flats so I can see you run in person!

Thanks Soos, it would have been good for you being on your door step, but it will never happen.

The good thing with running a small bike is this, the air fields I run on in the UK are still long enough to get the job done.

I was going to make a mock attempt on the record in April but I have just had an email from the IOPD saying that they will sanction it as an official IOPD land speed record.
It will not displace the ACU record but will run along side it sort of like there are several world heavyweight boxing champions with different organisations. WBA WBO WBF etc.

The IOPD is an organisation set up with the blessing of the British Government to oversee off road events.
IOPD stands for the International Organisation of Professional Drivers.
