Yet another should I buy thread. - 78 750k $1200 asking.

I'm still waiting on some better pictures, but its red, looks to have a good tank and side covers.  Current owner got it as a rent payment last fall, planned to fix it up and doesn't have the time to ride.

"I spent around $700 on brakes, tires, fluid changes, battery, ignition switch, and carb cleaning. The bike starts easy and
is strong I simply do not have the time to ride"

Says the paint is in good shape, no cracking.

The pipes look clean from the pictures I have.  It of course has a Vetter fairing, that I'm probably going to pull if I get it.

He's looking for a cheap car or truck in trade, and I happen to have an old 87 toyota tercel I picked up for the winter, that is getting progressively worse mpg that I wouldn't mind giving up.  Then I should be able to make it by with 72 VW as it starts to get warmer for wet weather commuting, and the bikes for the rest.  He said he might be interested in the car as a partial trade, but I still need to send him pictures of it's ugliness and tell him about the mpg.

I SHOULD just keep saving money, put some money into tires and maybe a pro lookover of my 550k1.

I also should stop watching the classifieds like a hawk.

From what I can see it is a decent bike. I have one and the are good bikes The seat is not original. The side covers have either been replaced or repainted. I know this since the K decals are missing. I guess you look at his bike and he looks at your vehicles to trade and go from there. For the work he describes $700 is about correct.
