cb650 carb boot

Took my carbs off today....the boots look worn...should I replace didnt know if this was a big deal...they are are pretty hard....didnt know if they were expensive and where to buy them as well.

yes you should replace them. If they are leaking (sucking air in from around the carb) that could lead to a lean condition and the backfiring you were complaining about. Check to see if the are still available from honda but they should be.
