Reading your posts prompted me to install a 17T as well. I like the reduction of "buzz"  in the engine at highway speeds. Price of gas is edging toward outrageous as well so better mileage will be welcome. I only ride solo (wife getting less adventuresome in her old age   ;D) so don't notice much, if any, loss of torque on the low end.

Hey you noticed that too Blue, yeah amazing how much "buzz" the bike loses and the rev drop is very noticable. :)
I think the thing I most like about motorcycling is the speed at which my brain must process information at to avoid the numb skulls who are eating pies, playing the ukulele, applying make-up etc in the comfort of their airconditioned armchairs as they make random attempts to kill me!!!!!!!

Had to import it from the USA Larry, didn't take too long to get here either.

Think all up it was $64 kiwi so pretty cheap for a part that does so much for our old 650's. :)
