my penchant for answering questions does not match my ability to stump a forum of enthusiasts.  you have a few years on me so i thought i would let some more trivia spill out of yer head and onto this thread.  looking back it wasnt too clear what i meant, but perhaps we are just not drunk enough- I just got off work, so give me a couple hours and i'll see if it makes more sense- so how do you feel about asking the next trivia question?

OK KK, before they started to export bikes around the globe, what other business did Honda try to break into?

The venture literally blew up in their face and allmost bankrupted the company.

Who's a clever boy then :D :D :D :D :D :D :D

With petrol (OK gas to you lot ;D) in short supply after the war, people were running their motors on anything that would burn.
Turpentine, an oil from pine trees when refined would just about keep you on the road.
Mr Honda decided to buy a very big pine forrest and go into the production of turpentine and corner the turps market.
Now with these big trees and big axes, the little Japanese guys were having a rather tough time felling the big buggers.
One of them thought, sod this for a lark and got himself some explosives and started to blow the trees out of the ground. :o :o :o
You can guess what happened next,...........spot on, the whole f....in forrest went up in smoke and almost finished Honda off financially.
 And they say global warming is something new. ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

Orlrighty then. Here's one which should take about a nanosecond of research to answer.

What was the year and model designation of Hondas first four cylinder race bike? How big was the engine?

Here's one I have been trying too find the answer to for a long time. I've asked on several forums where I thought I might find the answer but to no avail.
Even the UKs governing body, the ACU who sanction the records can't tell me because when a record gets broken the old one goes in the bin, they just don't keep old records.
I need to find a person who has kept all his old ACU hand books from the early 60s to the early 70s as they contained all the records from the previous year.
Asking on a predominantly American forum will be a waste of time but the question is.....who was the first person in the UK to take a Honda to a British speed record ?

I'll try to think of a more suitable question for ya.
