'78 K float level
« on: May 25, 2008, 08:05:52 AM »
Before I open the carbs AGAIN, has anyone found a good level for the floats on a '78K?
They run a bit lean and I want to richen it up a bit.

Well float height should be about 14.5mm or between 14 - 15mm. What is the reason for wanting to run richer?

I checked the plugs and they are light grey so I'm thinking that's a tad lean.

Fuel mixture is controlled by many things on a carb, one of them being float height. If the float is set to spec correctly, no other adjustment is needed to change mixture. If you want to change enrichment, look at jet size or needle setting first.
