Rev limiter for a 350F?
« on: May 26, 2008, 12:20:58 PM »
Let's just say I had an "oh oh" on the weekend........ good news is the engine is good to above 10k. I'm not actually sure how high it went but the engine seems fine thank goodness, probably in part because of Web Cam's heavier valve springs.  :)  :-[

I know from searching that the Dyna S doesn't have a rev limiter and only the Dyna 2000 does; but they're not made for the little 350.

Does anyone know of an ignition system for the 350/400f with a rev limiter....  HondaMan's perhaps?

Thanks guys  :) It's a DRL-200 adjustable rev limiter  ::)

I didn't know there was such a unit.

Now, Do you know if this will work with my points system or does it only work with a Dyna ignition.

the manual here: http://www.dynaonline.com/skins/downloads/instruct/DRL200.pdf says it will work with any "inductive electronic ignition"

Please forgive my ignorance.... do points fall under that category  :-\

Cheap points with weak springs.

Ok, will Dyna's rev limiter (DRL-300) work with the stock breaker point ignition on my 350F?

Their website doesn't come out and say it won't.... but i'm not taking that as a yes  ;)

Anyone.....   ;D

Call Dyna and ask... as you say, it isn't specific on the website.

I think that's what I'll do.

I accidentally wound mine past 10k (probably 10.5 or so) around a long sweeper chasing after a friend on his Z1000. It didn't seem to mind really. I think the 350 mill is pretty tough and it can handle the occasional "whoops". Of course I don't plan on doing it again though.
