would you replace the gas lines if rust was present

not sure if this is important or not....should I replace the lines from petcock to inline filter and down to the carbs. present in the tank.

Fuel line is cheap, and cleaning carbs is a PITA.  Replace them if it increases your peace-of-mind, but probably not strictly necessary if cleaned.  Has the source of the rust been eliminated?

I agree. Few bucks for lines prior to inline filters. If filters look ok, I wouldn't worry about them.
