Wiring harness work - source for supplies?
« on: June 11, 2008, 09:14:39 PM »
I'm wiring up my bike (ok, it's not an SOHC4 but the connectors are the same) and have ordered all the connectors, but the supplier (www.mikesxs.net) was out of the male bullet connectors.

They're the same as on the Honda harnesses.  Anyone ever find these for sale anywhere?  I've searched high and low with no luck.

I'm also looking for good quality braided expanding sleeve for the harness.  Only stuff available locally is cheap stuff used in electronic projects, computer stuff etc.

Actually I found some at Z1 Enterprises of all places.  Have to confirm the size of the bullets though.

I can get heaps of those here at any parts shop but when I ran out over the weekend and wanted to finish my wiring I resorted to a different type from SUPERCHEAP and they hold better and stay crimped, pull out of each other with little effort when you need to unplug.
I'm sold on these cheaper ones, that plus I have about half a box left over anyway. ;D
I think the thing I most like about motorcycling is the speed at which my brain must process information at to avoid the numb skulls who are eating pies, playing the ukulele, applying make-up etc in the comfort of their airconditioned armchairs as they make random attempts to kill me!!!!!!!

I use narva bullet connectors, i think they are 3.5mm ones, they are identified by a red insulating cover around the base. They work perfectly and while not factory exact do the job just fine. I`m not going for a exact restore though
