How many SOHCammers to change a light bulb..??
« on: June 15, 2008, 08:30:40 AM »
Well..a few..

one will come along and tell you how it used to be done back in the day..

there will be one who says it will work better with an add on module..

there will be quite a few, that will say it must be the newest most electronic mercury model or it will never be right!!

there will be a few that insist that it needs an o-ring on it.. :D

DONT even mention cost, there will be once that say it is only woth 2 1/2 cents, then someone will come along and say they are worth 3.75 cents, or maybe even 4 cents..  ;D

there will be a few that insist, that there is only 2 years of production that are worth having..

there will be someone comes along and asks, what is meant by incandescent bulb?

one will come along that has managed to scew up the threads on the base... :o.. anf one that has one stuck that they cannot get out.. ;D

There will be at least one that has leaks, even though that is hard to imagine..

a few will want to make it brighter or better even though it is working fine

there will be at least one that bought the bulb used but NEVER gets it to work right...

as you can see, it takes quite a few, & there is more...

.. but its all good... ;D

Perfect!  So, is the incandescent lighting device ultimately used and enjoyed for what it is?  A light bulb?

Which tool is best for changing it out?

Some will torque it; most will tell you only finger tight!

Is the bulb synced with the other bulbs in the house?

What's the biggest bulb I can fit in my light socket?

Is it unsafe to use a 25 year old light bulb?

I'm thinking of buying a light bulb.  What problems should I be on the look-out for?

When I flip the switch, the light bulb does not turn on.  Is this normal?

Is it 110..or 220..(EUROspec)....??

If you end up not using your HIpo bulb, will you sell it & ship to Australia..

It has to be a Sylvania 44- 89, or at least a Sylvania 33- 69 to be able to work tight..

If you can find them the hand blown wide radius jobs out from J. A. Pan are the schiznitz... ;D

I am a minimalist, what can I strip off the light or shorten up??

A fellow comes along and tricks up the bulbs nicely, the crowning touch is a checkered pattern across the bulb!! His bulbs sell for 66.6% more than all the others...
And everyone ends up hating the guy... ;)

None.. the bulb is fine..

But the owner has to take it out & dick with it anyway BECAUSE it is working fine..

Question, my bulb is fine at 110 volts, but would it not be so much better if it ran at 125volts   ???

That's an easy one...

None of them!
No one has ever been any smarter or come away with any concrete, helpful information after reading any of the oil threads that have existed throughout history.  Their sole existence is for entertainment value only! ;D

In fact, any post title that includes the words "which oil" or "synthetic" should automatically be put in the Humor section. :D
