Just discovered this forum and thought I'd join as I will likely need all the advice I can get on my new project. I just bought a 1976 Honda CB750 from Craigslist that is going to become my cafe racer(hopefully anyway). It needs a lot of work but all the basics are there, engine won't start but kicks over with the kick started so I'm pretty sure I still have compression, and the frame is in excellent condition with only a few very minor rust spots that a bit of sanding will take care of. I am planning on tearing the bike down completely, and rebuilding it from the ground up. This is my first time attempting a rebuild of a bike.
Right now I have 3 goals for this project:
1.) Have a cafe racer when I am done
2.) Learn how to rebuild a motorcycle, including doing a full rebuild on the motor
3.) Give me a project to work on(I always need something to tinker with)
I'll try and get around to uploading some pics to the gallery on this forum, but for anyone who's interested I have my own webpage setup that I plan on tracking the progress on. (Note that this is a personal page, that is constantly under construction)

It also has 1/4 the number of cylinders as the new Honda
for those of you who haven't ridden a thumper I strongly recommend it
