Indentation in carburetor float

I put a small indentation in one of my carburetor floats while cleaning it up.  Will this affect performance?

nope,wont matter,as long as it can move freely your ok..
make sure you set/check the float hight when reassembling...

pretty nice cleaning job.... 8)

Here's how to fix it, if you don't want to mess with a slightly higher fuel level in that carb:

Drill a very small hole in the center of the dimple (1/16" max, smaller is better).
With a compressed air gun, fit a rubber tip onto the gun (you'll see these tips wherever the hand air guns are sold).
Set the air pressure to about 40 PSI. Gently press the rubber tip against that hole (to seal it) and give the float a short blast of air. You can also start by turning on the air, then bring the rubber tip up toward the hole. Either way, it will suddenly pop the dimple back out.
Clean the area with acetone or lacquear thinner, then solder the tiny hole shut with a bit of resin-core solder. It will be good as new!

Won't that float then weigh slightly more than it originally did due to the solder?

Mostly, than depends on how well you solder, and how small the hole is...I used .040" drills, which required only a wisp of solder to seal. That is much less solder than is used on the rest of the float, doesn't seem to affect things much. At worst, the float level for that carb would have to be raised a mm or so, watch the plugs to see if that one is running richer than the others, let that be the guide.  ;)
