Suggestions for Best Performance for Mostly Stock 750 K1
« on: September 02, 2005, 10:53:30 PM »
I have a 1971 CB750 that is completely stock at the moment; however, I would like to do the following in the near future:
- Electronic ignition (Dyna-S)
- Oil cooler
- Higher performance air filter (I want to keep the stock air box)
- Possibly a 4-1 exhaust (maybe some suggestions on that?)

My question:  what is the best set-up for the motorcycle (ie carb needle sizes, carb adjustments, etc.) with those modifications?  I am not necessarily looking for performance, but just having a great, smooth running machine.  So, any experiences with tuning experimentation?  Or other modifications done that maintains a mostly stock appeance?

Use a K&N OEM type filter. You don't have many choices for exhaust systems(Kerker or Mac). I'd go with the Kerker out of the 2. Go up 1 main jet size with the stock Kerker baffle.
