I was bitten by a fly in Noosa, does that count ?
I was smitten by a blond shortly after. ;D

I think i can trump that with a chase by a Taipan......seriously.....i ended up trapping it with a broom and its head was about 6 inches from my hand, i was stuck in that position for about 20 minutes until my neighbour saw me bending over and not moving.....he thought i had hurt my back.. ;D....he beat it to a pulp with a tree branch......scary #$%* those Taipans and man are they fast, one of the few snakes that will chase you..... :o

Just to show how venomous the Taipan is , one bite can have enough venom to kill 100 humans or 250 thousand mice and is 50 times more venomous than a Cobra......we have sea snakes here that make the Taipan look gentle by comparison.....

Free spare room at Hush's place too Kit if you ever get down this way. ;D we are just across the water from Retro, the Tasman isn't that deep so you could probably ford it with your CL. ;)

drilled a spare set of jets to 130 and looks promising. feels to have a wee bit more oomph but still a slight hesitation if on constant throttle at about 6000 rpm, might have to experiment with needle positioning.
I'm sure close to "ideal"

OK Rick, I must admit bikey has been scorching the tarmac unregistered for a while now, but since winter proper is upon us, it's time for a wee tear down. fix the annoying leak from the head and a few other bits and pieces. stay tuned. got to tidy the garage first.

Was going to do the same, not sure whether it's worth tearing into bike for that leak though?

I just can't help myself sometimes Rick. Bikey is apart, couldn't see any likely leak ? everything looks ok. new gasket set arrived from DSS, just on a week from order to my door  8) Snow due to hit tomorrow so some fiddly bits will get done in the kitchen. might even wheel the bike inside yet.

What's the $$$ damage for the head gasket set Larry? and are you doing a replacement on the cam chain adjuster while you are in there.
I'm playing with the idea of redoing mine before the winter is truly over, hard to say as she runs pretty damn good right now and fiddling for the sake of a bit of oil on my boot seems a bit of overkill. :)

DSS didn't have just a top end kit listed, so got a complete kit, side stand rubber and oil filter  delivered to door for $116.00 NZD
as for if you feel the need to tear the motor apart, only something you can answer.
good southerley blast is the ideal time here in the south.
EDIT  cam chain tensioner is all good
snow everywhere, have to try and dig my way into the garage

time to prep the bike. leave tomorrow morning to go meet shortshins and pick up GZ. don't know which route yet, looks like I might go thru the inland mountain road on the way up and back along the coast on wednesday night. weather is all over the place at the moment.
