Topic: how do explain to a 4 year old that his dog is dead

 had a nice long talk with the boy , he was a little sad. no tears tho.

i'm not very religious but i was raised with strong Christian values, so i pulled out that card
explained that Rocko is in heaven now. it was apparent to me that  knowing that comforted him .   within the hour he was his normal happy-go-lucky self.

maybe an hour or so after that, he was telling me about his next dog 
   he wants a pitbull   (he saw one in a magazine i was reading)

so thanx for the kind words and advice.   and as was said already , i was more worried about it then he was 

now i'm off to "save a pet" to try and find a pitbull
