New Rider Introduction - It's Time!
« on: October 28, 2008, 12:47:53 PM »
Hey everyone - I am now posting to the new member forum to introduce myself. I've been posting some noob questions in anticipation of bringing my bike home: 1976 CB550K2, custom midnight blue. The bike is mostly original, I've been told the gauges are reversed but otherwise a stock bike.

I got this as my first motorcycle, and I intend to make it a daily driver on my 26mi RT commute. To bring it up to safe riding condition, the steering head bearings are being replaced (the floppy ride form the PO to the shop was kinda scary) and they are also fixing an oil leak, sticky throttle, blinkers, etc. I'm having a shop do all this because I want to ride first, then learn to work on it as I go. So, the poor lil' guy will be in the shop for a little bit before I really get to ride.

Pics of when I dropped it off at Twinline Motorcycles in Seattle:

I' have received great responses from this forum, and can't wait to post about all the trouble I'm having with repairs :D

Everyone's a noob at some point, and the only dumb question is the unasked one, of course :)

Welcome to the madness.

That is a very clean looking bike. I like the color too. Welcome aboard and ask away, just make sure you check thesearch. You may find your answer in less time than it takes to ask.

Let us know how you get on. We can't work out why there are such differences in the results brought up by the Google Custom Search (which is a bolt-on) and the standard SMF Search function...   ???

I've done some SW QA, maybe I can drive to root cause ;)
