oversized rear sprockets for the 550
« on: November 30, 2008, 01:26:48 AM »
i can't seem to find any ,  i found 1 on ebay, a 45  but i want a new one. and i was hoping to find a 42 (stock is 37, 45 seems like a big jump to me ,  i can find smaller front sprockets all day long (smaller by one tooth) but nothing for the rear .... i know they exist, where do i look ?

are the 750's the same fit on the carrier?

Try www.sprocketspecialists.com. They seem to be able to make just about any sprocket.

750's are not the same on the carrier. I found that out when I did a 750 rear end swap and wanted to put my stock 550 rear sprocket on. I bought a JT-sprockets rear sprocket from bikebandit.com

through a little research , i've found that the cb500t (twin)  has a 42t sprocket, 530 chain, and the measurements i was given for the hole pattern are so close that i figure they have to be the same .(i chalk the difference up to human error)

cb500t mounting holes center to center 4 3/8"

cb550 mounting holes center to center  4 5/8" (measured by me)

so i ordered the 500T sprocket , we'll see if it fits .if not, i only wasted 22.bucks  i'll keep you posted

disregard the previous post, i looked a little deeper and found that my "research"  was BS and the info given was way off (according to the JT site)

500t will not fit (not even with some machining)
