Bodain I hate you!

I have yet to get my valves adjusted even....the cafe thing is definitely going on the back burner for this year. Money and time were not kind to me this year! Anyways, other than making it street worthy and throwing on a set of euro bars that will be as far as I will be able to get this year. Spring is too close to tie up a working scooter (as the CBR is likely on the market)

Keep us up to date Bodain!

And UL thanks for the pic that is one of the few I have seen with the other style of tank....makes me think there is hope for mine...

Anymore I do far less riding and far more wrenching, and like it. ;D

Oh and I had it out just riding the neighboard today. I'm absolutely not going to live with the stock exhaust note. Too quit... I pulled the mufflers to hear it growl on straight pipes. Nice sound, but too loud. So I put the muffs back on and drilled (4) .5 in holes in the rear of each muffler. Hmmm.... No doubt about it...This will sound pretty much like a Ducati with a bit more hacking on those mufflers.

Well the update is.......

I never did 100% complete it. This was more or less the finished item. I sold it for $2800.00. I personally have a hard time getting into twin cyclinder motorcycles. Just not much I like about them. The CX is such a toad and an oddball, that I just had to do this, just because I could.

Since I payed $800.00 for the original bike. This was quit profitable. Just goes to show you can put clubmans on about anything, and it increases the value a good bit.  ;D

Since I sold that I've aquired a CB 750 and a CB 550... I just dig inline 4 engines.

Cool...glad it worked out for you.

Out of curiosity do you know if the delux and classic tanks are interchangable? I have a classic but like the deluxe tank better (and yeah I will likely put on clubmans  ;) ) prolly some bar end mirrors too...

Don't really know. The 78 /79 gas tank is just a perfect cafe tank. After 79 the tanks are more cruiser tear drop shape which just doesn't really fit the cafe look. Even if I had done this on a later model. I simply could not live with the tear drop tank and would have gotten a 78 /79 tank.
