i've been thinking, a dangerous thing to do sometimes
we have 2400 members
what if we each went to a honda dealer every week and asked them if they had a newer version of the old honda?
we don't want a crotch rocket or a cruiser
i'm sure that after a few weeks of thousands of request for the old honda maybe honda will send some to the u.s.
every week just go to a different dealer and talk to a different salesman
get the whole family involved
we can flood honda with thousands of request
what do ya think?

Given the state of things, and that they are not selling as much, it may work but then I think we would need to get other forums in on this. At this point, I dont really care what they release as long as it is DIFFERENT! No more cruiser crap or crotch biter bikes!

in order to comply with EPA etc. now you'd not want one of our old bikes resurected. It would be so lame.

Everytime they've tried to sell an updated version of a standard like ours they just don't sell. How many of us 2400 would really go out and buy a new one. Not many. I know I wouldn't. Nothing wrong with my old ones. If I'm going to drop the coin on a new bike (which I just don't do anyhow), i'm not sure it would be something like my sohc.

Personally I'd like to see them release a new version of the 305 dream. What a perfect beginner/urban bike. A better option than a scooter.

Way ahead of ya. I already asked our local dealer if they were getting any of those CB1100f's and he looked at me like a deer in headlights.

Like I said before, every time I go into the dealer, I stop to look around the showroom.  Naturally, I get approached by a "sales associate", and I just have to tell him that there isn't anything here that moves me enough to want one of anything there, "except maybe a GoldWing".  And tell him that they need to supply bikes that aren't trying to be like everyone else....cruisers or crotch rockets.  Not much of a choice for me.

Who has the money for a new bike?!?!?!

Sure it would be cool to see a REAL retro bike but I think it would be unfair to ask my favourite builder to make somtehing that I have no intention of buying just so one gets offered....

I have a feeling many members would Like a retro bike, but one reason many of us have the older bikes is both time and money. Much time, little money. And besides, I bet if a retro were made, it would be much more complicated mechanically, ie, you would probably need lots of 'special' tools to work on it.

How difficult would it be to buy a bike over in Europe or Asia, ride it until it was no longer considered "new" and ship it back home?  I know of a guy that did that with a Mercedes Benz, only because he couldn't get the car over here.
